My initial thought for the corner of the garden with the water feature was that it would be a little Zen oasis of minimalism.
Then all the remaining plants at our local plant store went on sale.
All of a sudden everything was so cheap! All my tasteful minimalist ideas went out the window.
Turns out I am not so much a plant gourmet as a glutton.
More is more, right? It's overstuffed -- but I figure I can edit out some plants as they grow in.
And I still had plants left over.
So, which is better, Zen simplicity --
-- or total excess?
